what are the three doshas? and what do they mean?
In Ayurveda, the three Doshas— Vata, Pitta and Kapha are responsible for all fundemental processes within the body. Although everyone has qualities of each Dosha each person has a unique make up of these three energies.
Vata is responsible for movement and creativity within the body. Vata governs fuctions like circulation, respiration, and nervous system impulses.
Pitta is responsible for metabolism and transformation within the body. Pitta governs functions like digestion and energy production.
Kapha is responsible for structure, stability, and lubrication within the body. Kapha governs strength and cohesion within the body.
Maintaining balance between these three Doshas in the core principles to achieving balance and preventing disease.
